
TCU’s Season Ends in National Semifinal Game

OMAHA – No. 2 Florida broke a 2-2 tie in the ninth and held on for a 3-2 victory, ending TCU's dream run in the College Worlds Series Wednesday afternoon. The Horned Frogs fought back to tie the game in the eighth inning.
The Rundown
TCU battled back from a 2-0 deficit after the top of the first to tie the game. The Horned Frogs cut the deficit in half in the bottom of the first. Karson Bowen walked and moved to second on a wild pitch. Brayden Taylor delivered an RBI-single to make it a 2-1 ballgame.
The Frogs looked like they had the game tied in the fourth. With one out and a runner on second, Logan Maxwell singled to right center. A perfect relay to home caught the runner trying to score for the second out.
TCU was finally able to tie the game in the eighth inning. Tre Richardson singled with one out and scored on a two out double from Anthony Silva.
The comeback was not to be as Florida took advantage of a lead-off double in the ninth to score the game-winning run. An infield single with the runner on third gave the Gators the 3-2 lead.
Kole Klecker was solid in his second start at the CWS. He allowed two runs on six hits, walked one and struck out two. Ben Abeldt (3-4) was the tough-luck loser, allowing a run on three hits. He struck out five. Garrett Wright allowed a hit and struck out one in his lone inning of work.

44 – On April 30, TCU's record stood at 23-20. TCU went on a crazy 21-4 run to finish the season with 44 wins and a trip to its sixth College World Series.
68 – TCU played 68 games this season, tying a program record for games played in a season.
