The Rundown
Entering the eighth, TCU trailed 5-4. Luke Boyers worked a lead-off walk and advanced to second on an Austin Davis single. Karson Bowen doubled down the left field line to give the Frogs a 6-5 lead.
Garrett Wright (2-2) took over on the mound in the eighth and struck out the side around a one-out walk, but he could not hold the Wildcats down in the ninth. With one out and the bases loaded, a passed ball allowed the tying run to score. A two-out, walk-off single from Brady Day gave the Wildcats the walk-off 7-6 win.
Kansas State built a 2-0 lead with solo home runs in the first and second. TCU tied the game in the third on a two-out base hit from Brayden Taylor. The Wildcats had an answer in the bottom of the third, scoring twice on a one out single.
TCU inched its way back into the contest with a run in the fifth on a two-out base knock from Anthony Silva. The Horned Frogs tied the game in the seventh on a two-out double from Tre Richardson.
Kansas State regained the lead on a bases-loaded walk in the seventh. Hunter Hodges minimized the damage as he took over with the bases loaded and nobody out. A strikeout and a double play kept the deficit at one, 5-4.
Louis Rodriguez started and allowed four runs on five hits in three innings of work in the no-decision. He walked one and struck out four. Cam Brown was touched for a run on a hit and struck out five in three innings.
