
TCU Finishes as Big 12 Runner-Up

Frimodt, Giboudot and Olesen earn All-Tournament Honors
HUTCHINSON, Kan. – For the second time in four seasons, the TCU men's golf team finished in second place at the Big 12 Championship.
The Horned Frogs were the only team to finish below par on a cool Wednesday in Kansas, shooting 1-under 279. As a team, TCU was 17-over 1137 and finished four shots ahead of No. 5 Texas Tech (+21), six shots better than No. 14 Texas (+23) and seven better than No. 21 Oklahoma State (+24). No. 10 Oklahoma (-1) was the only team under par to win its second-straight Big 12 Championship.
It was TCU's best finish in Big 12 play since it was runner-up in 2019 at The Greenbrier. The Frogs have finished in the top half of the Big 12 in each of the last four seasons.
Three Horned Frogs earned All-Tournament Team honors with top 10 finishes. Maxence Giboudot, who arrived at TCU in January, placed tied for sixth and was the top freshman finisher. He saved his best round for last going 2-under 68 to lower his overall score to 2-over 282.
Gustav Frimodt and Jacob Skov Olesen tied for ninth place at 3-over 283. Both shot 1-under 69 in the final round. It was Frimodt's fifth top 10 finish of the season.
Aymeric Laussot was tied for 15th place with a score of 9-over 289, one place and one stroke better than Laussot did at the previous Big 12 Championship held at Prairie Dunes in 2021.
The top-ranked amateur in the world, Ludvig Aberg of Texas Tech, repeated as Big 12 Champion with a Big 12 record 15-under 265.
The Horned Frogs will learn where they play next at the NCAA Men's Golf Selection Show on May 3 at noon on Golf Channel. TCU's team has qualified for 31 of the last 32 NCAA Regionals. All regionals will take place May 15-17.
