HOUSTON – No. 10 TCU's rally came up a run short in a 3-2 loss to No. 14 Louisville Saturday afternoon at Minute Maid Park. Karson Bowen hit his first career home run in the loss.
The Rundown
In the eighth, TCU was finally able to chase the Louisville starter as Cole Fontenelle reached on a lead-off single. Two batters later, the Horned Frogs were within one, 3-2, after Karson Bowen launched a two-run homer to left center.
The Frogs had an opportunity to tie the game in the ninth with two on and two out. Fontenelle's bid at a game-winning home run was just shy of going out as the right fielder tracked it down on the warning track to end the game.
