Horned Frogs return 11 starters from last season's CFP team

FORT WORTH -- The TCU football team begins spring practice Monday at 8 a.m.

The Horned Frogs return 11 starters (four offensive, seven defensive) from last season's team that became the first from the state of Texas to reach the College Football Playoff and first from the Big 12 Conference to play in the CFP National Championship.

Head Coach Sonny Dykes, who won 10 National Coach of the Year awards, will be in his second season at the helm.

TCU was the first Big 12 team to complete the regular season with a 12-0 record since 2009 and the first league member to go 9-0 in conference play since 2016. TCU tied a program record with 13 wins en route to finishing second in the final Associated Press poll.

The April 14 Spring Game at 7 p.m. in Amon G. Carter Stadium will close spring practice. The Horned Frogs open the 2023 campaign with a Sept. 2 home contest against Colorado.
