
TCU Scores Extra Inning Victory at DBU

DALLAS – No. 10 TCU took advantage of a costly error in the 12th and turned it into three runs in a 4-1 extra inning victory at DBU Tuesday night. Tre Richardson had three hits and drove in two runs in the 12th to lead the Horned Frogs to their first road win of the season.
The Rundown
TCU tied the game at one in the fifth inning on an Austin Davis sacrifice fly. From there, the game remained scoreless and uneventful until the Frogs struck for three runs in the 12th.
Karson Bowen led off the 12th with his second double of the game. An errant throw on an Anthony Silva sacrifice bunt allowed Bowen to score on the go-ahead run. With two outs and the bases loaded, Tre Richardson singled up the middle to drive in two insurance runs for a 4-1 lead.
Cohen Feser came on with a runner on first and nobody out in the bottom of the 12th and retired all three batters he faced to tally his first save of the season. Ben Abeldt picked up his first career win. He went 1 1/3 innings, allowing a hit, walking two and striking out two.
Braeden Sloan started and turned in five strong innings. The only blemish was a second inning run. He struck out two and walked two while giving up just one hit. Louis Rodriguez turned in 4 2/3 shutout innings of relief. He allowed one hit and struck out four.
Stat of the Game:
3 – TCU held DBU to just three hits in the game. The Patriots came into the game hitting .336 on the season.
