
TCU Student-Athletes of the Week

FORT WORTH – The men's tennis team, Lucy Ibeh of women's basketball and Katie Zaun of rifle have been named TCU Student-Athletes of the Week, presented by Bob's Steak and Chop House.
The TCU men's tennis team secured their second straight ITA Indoor National Championship, becoming the seventh program to win back-to-back Indoor National Championships. The Horned Frogs defeated Big 12 foe Texas 4-0, marking just the sixth shutout in Indoor National Championship history. TCU completed three shutouts in total in the tournament, winning over No. 10 Baylor and No. 13 Georgia, before taking on No. 2 Kentucky and winning 4-2. In the National Championship match, the Horned Frogs surrendered just two sets, both of which went to tiebreakers, while dominating the entire match. The men's tennis team is back in action on Tuesday, February 28th, as they take on University of Texas-Arlington at the Bartzen Varsity Courts in Fort Worth, Texas at 5:30 p.m.
Ibeh helped the women's basketball team secure a win over Kansas State, while scoring 21 points in 21 minutes. As a result, Ibeh recorded her third double-double of the season. Ibeh also grabbed a team-leading 10 rebounds, including five offensive rebounds. The Horned Frogs return to action on Wednesday, March 1 when they travel to Lubbock, Texas, for a matchup against Texas Tech.
Zaun helped led the rifle team to another successful NCAA Qualifier, leading all shooters in both disciplines. Zaun shot a 593 in smallbore and a 598 in air rifle, while TCU produced the top NCAA Qualifying score. The TCU rifle team returns to action on March 10-11 as they travel to Akron, Ohio for the NCAA Championships.
