The Rundown
TCU opened the scoring in the first on a Kurtis Byrne RBI-single. A Karson Bowen RBI base knock in the second made it a 2-0 ballgame
Florida State tied the game in the fourth and took a 5-2 lead with a three spot in the fifth.
The Frogs responded with a solo home run off the bat of Brayden Taylor in the fifth. Bowen's second RBI-single in the sixth pulled the Frogs within one, 5-4, but a five spot in the seventh by Florida State widened the gap to six, 10-4.
Back-to-back walks in the seventh had the Frogs in business. Tre Richardson hit a sacrifice fly to drive in the first run of the inning and David Bishop doubled to pull the Frogs within four, 10-6.
Two more runs crossed the plate in the eighth on an Austin Davis double and a Taylor base hit, but that's as close as the Frogs would get as FSU retired the final five batters to lock up the series win.
Luke Savage (1-1) took the loss after allowing four runs on six hits in 4 1/3 innings. He walked two and struck out one. Cohen Feser tossed 2 2/3 innings of scoreless relief, allowing two hits, one walk and striking out three.
