TCU Volleyball Unveils Spring Schedule, Hosts Texas on March 26

Horned Frogs are set to compete four times from March-April
FORT WORTH – The first glimpse of the 2023 TCU volleyball team is glimmering on the horizon, as the Horned Frogs unveiled their complete spring schedule on Wednesday.
TCU will take the court four times between March-April in a series of exhibition matches. The slate includes two home matches, highlighted by a spring season-opening tilt with reigning National Champion Texas.
The Horned Frogs' tussle with the Longhorns is set for a noon first serve on March 26 inside Schollmaier Arena.
The opportunity to host Texas, which is set to depart the Big 12 Conference following the 2023 campaign, is an exciting development.
TCU was expected to set a program attendance record at its 2022 regular season home match vs. Texas on Nov. 2 but the Horned Frogs were forced to cancel the contest due to a flu outbreak within the program.
The March affair could possibly be the last time TCU and Texas square off in Fort Worth as conference rivals as well. The 2023 Big 12 volleyball season landscape features 13 teams with the annexation of BYU, Central Florida, Cincinnati and Houston to the conference. As such, an unbalanced conference schedule is likely in the cards.
TCU's spring schedule concludes vs. UT Arlington at 4:30 p.m. on Apr. 28.
Both home matches are free and open to the public.
Sandwiched in-between the home duals are a pair of in-state road trips.
The Horned Frogs will first participate in the 2023 FAST Complex College Invite on Apr. 1 in Houston. The tournament field includes in-state rival Texas A&M and a quintet of 2022 NCAA Tournament participants in Houston, LSU, Rice, Southeastern Louisiana and Stephen F. Austin.
Following a three-week training taper, TCU makes the short bus ride along Interstate 30 to Dallas on Apr. 22 for a doubleheader vs. Baylor and SMU. Both matches will take place inside Moody Coliseum.
TCU returns 11 letter winners from a 2022 squad that produced the greatest turnaround season of any Power Five conference program. The Horned Frogs advanced to the Round of 32 of the NCAA Tournament for the first time in six years. TCU finished the season 17-11 overall and 11-5 in Big 12 action, good enough for its first-ever third place finish in the Big 12 standings. The Horned Frogs' nine-win improvement in conference play was the best of any program featured in the NCAA Tournament field. TCU was also the only team across the Power five ranks to double its overall win total and quintuple its conference win tally from the previous season.
