
Peavy Named Big 12 Player of the Week

Peavy recorded 13 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists against Arizona State
FORT WORTH – Senior guard Micah Peavy was named Big 12 Player of the Week on Monday.
After graduating on Saturday with a degree in general studies, the senior guard recorded the third triple-double in TCU men's basketball history to lead the Horned Frogs to a 79-59 win over Arizona State in the USLBM Coast to Coast Challenge at Dickies Arena.
The Cibolo, Texas native joined Kurt Thomas and Kenrich Williams as the only Horned Frogs to record a triple-double. Peavy recorded 13 points, a career-high 12 rebounds and a career-high 10 assists with the final assist coming in the games' final two minutes on a dish to Essam Mostafa. It was the 10th triple-double in the NCAA this season.
Peavy was 6-of-10 from the field against ASU, including one made 3-pointer.
It was the first Big 12 weekly honor for Peavy. Max Abmas of Texas was the Big 12 Newcomer of the Week.
Peavy and the Horned Frogs will next compete in Honolulu, Hawaii at the Diamond Head Classic starting on Thursday against Old Dominion at 4 p.m. CT on ESPNU.
