TCU will play Florida State at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 1.
FORT WORTH – TCU earned its second-straight bid to the NCAA Tournament on Sunday and will travel to Fayetteville, Ark., for the first and second rounds.
As the No. 3 seed in the Arkansas quadrant, TCU (16-14, 8-10 Big 12) will face Florida State (23-8, 16-2 ACC) at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 1. Should the Frogs win Friday's match, TCU will play the winner of Arkansas and Stephen F. Austin on Saturday.
It's the fifth time in program history that the Horned Frogs have advanced to the NCAA Tournament and the second time in school history TCU has qualified in consecutive years. Last season, TCU won its first NCAA Tournament match since 2016 with a 3-1 win over Washington in the opening round and advanced to the Round of 32.
TCU finished the year with a 16-14 overall record and an 8-10 mark in the Big 12. The Frogs earned two Top 20 wins this season. Additionally, TCU claimed seven wins against opponents in the RPI top 50 and 10 wins against opponents in the top 100.
The Frogs are one of seven teams from the Big 12 to be selected to the Big Dance. Only the SEC had more teams represented at the NCAA Tournament with eight.
The Seminoles earned a share of the ACC title after posting a 16-2 record in conference. The Frogs defeated Florida State, 3-1, earlier this season at home on Sept. 15. Melanie Parra garnered AVCA National Player of the Week and Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week honors for her school-record 34 kills in the four-set win against Florida State.
