
Morris Advances to NCAA Cross Country Championships

Morris will run at her second consecutive NCAA Championship meet
FORT WORTH – For the second consecutive year, Gracie Morris has qualified for the NCAA Cross Country Championships.
Morris placed eighth overall at the NCAA South Central Regional with her time of 20:33.7 and finished first for the Horned Frogs to advance to the championship meet. The Aledo, Texas, native has now qualified for the NCAA Cross Country Championships in back-to-back years.
She has been one of the most consistent distance runners for TCU since her arrival to Fort Worth. Morris placed 22nd overall and first for the Frogs at the 2023 Big 12 Cross Country Championships with her 6K time of 20:33.6. She also notched a personal-best in the 6K earlier this season at the Arturo Barrios Invitational where she placed sixth (19:49.4).
Last season, Morris advanced to the NCAA Cross Country Championships after finishing second at the NCAA South Central Regional meet with her time of 20:17.1. She placed 142nd overall at the 2022 NCAA Championships.
Morris also garnered Honorable Mention All-American honors at the 2022 NCAA Outdoor Championships with her 22nd-place finish in the 1500m (4:25.53).
In addition to being a back-to-back NCAA cross country qualifier, Morris holds four TCU school records for indoor and outdoor track and field. Morris is the school-record holder in the outdoor 800m (2:03.97), 1500m (4:13.38) and the indoor mile (4:40.81). She also ran on the school-record outdoor DMR team at the 2023 Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays. Her, alongside London Culbreath, Jasmin Muhammad-Graham and Samarra Monrroy ran a time of 11:21.14 to finish second at the meet.
The NCAA Cross Country Championships will be held at Virginia on Saturday, Nov. 18 in Charlottesville, Va. The women's 6K will begin at 9:20 a.m. CT and will be televised on ESPNU, with coverage beginning at 8:30 a.m. CT.
