Grundsoee, Scully and Nalls honored by TCU.
FORT WORTH - Stephanie Grundsoee of rifle, Ashleigh Scully of equestrian and Audrey Nalls of volleyball have been named TCU Student-Athletes of the Week, presented by SciFit Center.
Grundsoee was one of four shooters to fire a score of 590 or better in Smallbore. Grundsoee tied for first in air rifle with a score of 597 and finished third with a score of 591 in the discipline. She proceeded to finish third overall in the match with an aggregate score of 1,188. The Horned Frogs will host Alaska Fairbanks this Saturday, Nov. 4, and Sunday, Nov. 5, in Fort Worth.
Scully was 4-0 on Friday in the doubleheader vs No. 5 Georgia and No. 10 UT Martin, going 2-0 in both Fences and Flat in both meets. While capturing three Most Outstanding Player awards, Scully went on to achieve an MOP in Flat against No. 5 Georgia with a 90-89 win, an MOP in Fences against No. 10 UT Martin with an 85-83.5 win and a third MOP in Flat with the highest score of the event against No. 10 UT Martin (88). TCU equestrian returns to action on Friday, Nov. 10 for a Big 12 matchup vs. Baylor.
Nalls led the Frogs with 23 kills and 12 digs while hitting .478 and tallied her ninth double-double of the season in Thursday's match at UCF. She also finished second on the team with 12 kills in TCU's 3-1 win over UCF on Friday night. Nalls averaged 4.38 kills per set and 5.0 points per set over both matches. TCU volleyball competes in another Big 12 matchup on Friday, Nov. 3, and Saturday, Nov. 4 vs. Iowa State.
