
TCU Falls to Texas In Regular Season Finale

AUSTIN, Texas - TCU fell to Texas, 4-2, in the regular season finale Monday at the Mike A. Myers Stadium and Soccer Field. Gracie Brian tallied her team-leading eighth goal of the year.
The Rundown
Texas took an early lead, scoring in the sixth minute. The Horned Frogs countered with a couple of scoring opportunities that were thwarted by the the Texas goalkeeper. TCU finally found the back of the net, doing so twice in the final five minutes of the first half to take a 2-1 lead going into the break.
In the 41st minute pressure from Seven Castain resulted in a Texas own goal. Her initial shot was knocked away by the keeper, but it deflected in off a Longhorn defender to tie the game. Just three minutes later, Gracie Brian found the back of the net. A cross from Bella Diorio on a free kick found Brenna Brosam, who's shot missed just off the post. Brian was in the right place at the right time, gathering the rebound and tapping the ball into the net.
After Texas scored in the 51st minute to tie the game at two, TCU kept the pressure on and had a number of chances to take the lead. The Frogs earned four corners and had 13 shots in the second half. The best chance in the came in the 69th minute, when Gracie Brian put a shot on frame but the Texas goalkeeper made a leaping save to keep the game tied.
Texas took the lead in the 74th minute and added another goal in the 85th minute to put the game out of reach.
