FORT WORTH – TCU football is gearing up for its first-ever College Football Playoff National Championship on Jan. 9, and Frog nation is invited to help commemorate the historic event.
TCU is hosting a National Championship Sendoff on Friday through the north side of campus to cheer on the Horned Frogs as they depart for Los Angeles.
"Our season—now with a Fiesta Bowl win—put all eyes on TCU's students, academic mission and our Lead On mentality," said Chancellor Victor J. Boschini, Jr. "Now we're the first Texas team to play in a National Championship game, so be ready to cheer our Frogs on in L.A."
Who: TCU football players, coaches and support staff and their families will board charter busses for the DFW Airport.
What: Frog nation is invited to pack the sidewalks and help send TCU football on its way to the west coast in style. The Fort Worth Fire Department is providing two quints that will display a flag on W. Cantey Street.
When: TCU football will depart at 9:45 a.m. Fans are encouraged to arrive early, beginning at 9:15 a.m.
Where: The team busses will depart from Frog Alley adjacent to Amon G. Carter Stadium. The caravan will then make consecutive right turns on W. Cantey Street and Stadium Drive before hooking a left onto W. Cantey Street and departing campus along University Drive.
Parking: Free parking is available in Lots 3 and 4 and in Frog Ally. Street parking on Cantey Street will be closed to the public. Click here to access an interactive campus map.
