Brosam honored for the first time in her career
IRVING, Texas – Messiah Bright and Brenna Brosam were selected by the league as the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week and Defensive Player of the Week. Additionally, Bright was named to TopDrawerSoccer's Team of the Week.
Bright picked up her fourth career Big 12 weekly honor. She tallied four goals and one assist over two games, including her second career hat trick. She became the first player in TCU history to register two hat tricks in her career. Her three goals against UTRGV paved the way for the Horned Frogs' 5-0 win. Additionally, she recorded one goal and one assist in the 7-0 victory against No. 16 Santa Clara.
Brosam played a large role in TCU's back-to-back shutouts against No. 16 Santa Clara and UTRGV. She led all Horned Frog defenders with 136 minutes on the field. Brosam has been instrumental in a defense that has held opponents to five or fewer shots on goal in all four games this season.
TCU (3-0-1) is currently ranked No. 7 by the United Soccer Coaches Association. The team is riding an 18-game unbeaten streak (14-0-4). The Frogs hit the road to take on USC Thursday at 5 p.m. CT in Los Angeles and will host No. 2 Duke at 7 p.m. Sunday night at Garvey-Rosenthal Stadium.
