Adams Named Preseason All-Big 12 for the Second Year in a Row
FORT WORTH – Senior Julia Adams has been awarded Preseason All-Big 12 honors, the conference office announced Wednesday. Adams led the Horned Frogs with a career-best 285 kills last season, averaging over three kills per set (3.03) for the second season in a row.

Adams was the most consistent offensive threat for TCU last season, posting double-digit kill totals in 17 of 26 matches. She was especially lethal in Schollmaier Arena where she earned 194 of her kills for the season, reaching double-digit kills in 81.25 percent of her starts. She set a career high with five consecutive 10+ kill performances from Sept. 18 to Oct. 9.

Adams is entering her fourth season in Fort Worth with an eye on collecting her 1,000th career kill. The Plano native currently sits at 766 and would become the 12th Horned Frog in program history to achieve the benchmark.

After leading the team with 285 kills last season, Adams will be looking to become the first Horned Frog to pace the category three seasons in a row since AVCA All-American Ashley Smith did so, from 2014-16.

The preseason team and awards are voted on by the league's head coaches who are not permitted to vote for their own players.
