
TCU Stymied In Series Opener at Florida State

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Florida State scored four times in the first and rode the early lead to a 10-0 win over No. 7 TCU Friday night at Dick Howser Stadium. Luke Boyers and Tommy Sacco registered the lone hits for TCU.
The Rundown
The first five Florida State hitters reached as the Seminoles opened up an early lead. Cam Brown came on and retired three in a row to get out of the inning but not before the Seminoles struck for four runs.
Two more runs crossed the plate in the second as the deficit grew to 6-0. The Seminoles added a pair of two out runs in the fifth and sixth innings to extend the lead to 10-0.
TCU had three base runners in the game. A hit batter in the fifth was erased on a double play. In the sixth and seventh, the Frogs had a runner at second with nobody out and couldn't get the run home.
Riley Cornelio (3-4) took the loss for the Horned Frogs after allowing four runs on four hits. Cam Brown threw five innings, surrendering four runs on four hits. He walked three and struck out four. Trip Banta and Storm Hierholzer each tossed scoreless innings.
