
Macnab Ties for 3rd at Big 12 Championship

TCU freshman finishes just 2 strokes off the lead
HOCKLEY, Texas -- Freshman Caitlyn Macnab tied for third as the No. 28 TCU women's golf team finished fifth after Sunday's final round of the Big 12 Championship in Hockley, Texas.
At 4-over 217, Macnab was just two strokes behind medalist Lianna Bailey of Oklahoma State. Macnab posted her fifth top-three result in the last eight tournaments. She was looking to become TCU's first conference champion since Sanna Nuutinen won the Mountain West title on a fourth playoff hole in 2012.
Macnab totaled five birdies on the day, including four of her final 10 holes, en route to a 1-over 72. The Johannesburg, South Africa, native had 10 birdies in the tournament to extend her TCU season record to 116.
Trinity King tied for 11th, a season-best result and her sixth top-20 finish in 15 career tournaments. Her final-round 74 included five birdies with three on her opening six holes.
Lois Lau carded her best round of the Big 12 Championship with an even-par 71. Keyed by three of her four birdies on the day, she was 2 under on the back nine to tie for 19th. It was the seventh top-20 result in 19 career tournaments for the sophomore from Noisy-sur-Ecole, France.
TCU is expected to make its 24th appearance in the last 26 postseasons when the NCAA Regional field is announced Wednesday at 3 p.m. CDT on Golf Channel.
