Taylor and Boyers homer for TCU

FORT WORTH  – No. 3 Oklahoma State scored in each of the first five innings en route to a 13-2 victory over No. 15 TCU Friday night at O'Brate Stadium. Brayden Taylor homered as part of a two hit game.

The Rundown
Oklahoma State saw the lead-off batter reach in each of the first four innings and each time turned the base runners into runs. The Cowboys scored one in the first and two in the second to open up a 3-0 lead. A three-run home run in the third pushed the lead to 6-0.

Brayden Taylor broke up the shutout with a two out solo home run in the fourth, but OSU responded with four runs in the bottom of the inning to make it a 10-1 ballgame.

The Cowboys added two more runs in the fifth on a two out, bases loaded single.

Luke Boyers' hit his third home run of the season in the eight. OSU got the run back in the bottom of the inning to account for the final score.

Riley Cornelio (3-3) took the loss after surrendering eight runs on 11 hits. He walked one and struck out two. Drew Hill, Braxton Pearson, Tommy Vail and Gray Thomas all saw time out of the bullpen.

Stats of the Game:
2 –  TCU hit two solo home runs in the game. It's the eighth time this season TCU has hit multiple home runs in a game.

• TCU homered in a game for the 20^th time this season.
• TCU allowed double-digit runs for just the third time this season.
• Brayden Taylor hit his eighth home run of the season and the 20^th of his career.
• Taylor notched his 13^th multi-hit game of the season and the 36^th of his career.
• Luke Boyers stretched his hitting streaks to eight games.
• Boyers hit his third home run of the season and the fourth of his career.

Next Up:
With the loss, TCU falls to 25-13 overall and 10-6 in Big 12 play. Game 2 of the series has been rescheduled to a 2 p.m. start on Saturday afternoon. The game will be streamed on OkState.com Marcelo Perez will get the start for the Horned Frogs.
