The sophomore broke a 35-year-old school record

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The TCU track & field teams competed at Day One of the Tom Jones Invitational.

Highlighting the day for the Horned Frogs was Gracie Morris as she broke the school record in the 1500m with a time of 4:14.59. Her stellar push at the end led her to a second-place finish overall where she broke the previous record of 4:14.87 that was set in 1987.

Her time was a personal-best and is seventh in the NCAA this season.

Lakelin Conrad ran a personal-best time of 14:25.54 to finish fourth overall and claim the sixth fastest time in TCU history.

Also notching a fourth-place finish was Kasey Staley in the pole vault with her height of 4.06m (13-3.75).

Khyasia Caldwell placed fifth overall in the women's long jump invitational with a mark of 6.31m (20-8.50).

Continuing his successful outdoor season was Tinotenda Matiyenga with his fifth-place finish in the 200m. The senior ran a 20.58, which is good for a Top 25 time this season in the NCAA.

In the men's pole vault, Fernando Martinez recorded a personal-best of 5.07m (16-7.50), good for the second-best mark in TCU history. He finished sixth overall.

Notching a fifth-place finish in the women's long jump university was Emma Seetoo with her leap of 5.90m (19-4.25).
