
TCU Shuts Out Baylor In League Opener

WACO, Texas – A career night on the mound for Riley Cornelio highlighted TCU's 3-0 win over Baylor Friday night at Baylor Ballpark in the Big 12 Conference opener for both schools. Tommy Sacco homered in the win. The victory runs TCU's winning streak to five.
The Rundown
Riley Cornelio (2-1) dominated the Baylor lineup for eight innings. He allowed just four base runners and faced the minimum in six of his eight frames. Cornelio retired the last 10 batters faced and finished the night allowing two hits, walking one and striking out seven.
Tommy Sacco's home run to lead off the fifth inning opened the scoring. He contributed to an insurance run in the seventh. Gray Rodgers opened the inning with an infield single and moved to third on a Sacco double. A wild pitch allowed Rodgers to score for a 2-0 lead.
TCU stretched its lead to three in the eighth. Elijah Nunez doubled with one out and scored on a David Bishop two-out double.
River Ridings pitched around a two-out hit batter in the ninth to secure his fifth save of the season.
