Celli Leads Frogs as Play Begins in Hawaii

TCU starts round two at 11:30 a.m. CT

WAIMEA, Hawaii – In his first collegiate competition of the season, Filippo Celli shot 5-under 67 to lead the TCU men's golf team on Thursday at the Amer Ari Invitational at the Hapuna Golf Course in Waimea, Hawaii.

Celli made five birdies in the bogey-free round. It was his 12^th time shooting par or better since arriving to Fort Worth last season. He was the Frogs' top finisher at the Big 12 Championships last spring.

Celli is two strokes out of first place.

Joining Celli under par was Gustav Frimodt and Jacob Skov Olesen. Frimodt shot 3-under 69 and made seven birdies. He is in a tie for 23^rd place. Olesen was 1-under 71 and tied for 50^th. Justin Gums is competing as an individual and was also 1-under 71 on Thursday.

TCU is tied for eighth place with San Jose State and North Carolina at 6-under 282. The team will start round two on Friday at 11:30 a.m. CT.
