IRVING – Two home victories in November produced an equal number of monthly Big 12 Conference award winners for TCU equestrian.
Ashleigh Scully and Lannie-Jo Lisac were named Big 12 Riders of the Month on Wednesday as voted on by conference head coaches.
Scully was honored in flat while Lisac received the recognition in reining.
Both athletes went 2-0 in their respective events, helping the second-ranked Horned Frogs (6-1) notch a pair of convincing wins over Fresno State and No. 9 UC Davis on Nov. 3 and Nov. 11, respectively.
Wednesday's announcement marks Scully's second straight Big 12 Rider of the Month accolade. The Morristown, New Jersey, native was chosen as the conference's top performer in fences in October.
Scully began November by earning her third set of Most Outstanding Performer (MOP) credentials in flat this fall vs. the Bulldogs. She competed to a score of 81 to lead the Horned Frogs to a 5-0 sweep of Fresno State in flat on their way to an eventual 16-1 win.
The junior followed up with a 74-point effort in her ride vs. UC Davis as a part of TCU's 15-5 takedown of the Aggies.
Scully now boasts a 12-2 combined record in jumping seat this fall. She has earned a team-leading five MOP's.
A freshman from Pueblo, Colorado, Lisac enjoyed a memorable collegiate debut against Fresno State. She notched a career-best score of 74 to fuel TCU's 8-0 sweep of the Bulldogs in western.
Lisac's winning ride earned her a spot in the Horned Frogs' draw vs. UC Davis. Against the Aggies, Lisac defeated her opponent 69.5-68.5 to help the Horned Frogs edge UC Davis in reining 3-2.
The Horned Frogs enter the winter holidays firmly in possession of the No. 2 overall NCEA Dual Discipline Team Ranking and first place in the Big 12 standings.
TCU begins the spring portion of its schedule on Jan. 26 vs. South Dakota State. Beginning with the meet vs. the Jackrabbits, the Horned Frogs will compete nine times from January-April, culminating with the NCEA Championships from Apr. 13-15 in Ocala, Florida.
