
Duggan Finishes Second for the Heisman Trophy

Voting was the closest since 2018
NEW YORK -- TCU quarterback Max Duggan finished second in voting for the 2022 Heisman Trophy.
In the closest vote since 2018, Duggan received 188 first-place votes and 1,420 points. USC's Caleb Williams won with 2,031 points. Duggan received the most votes by a runner-up since Alabama's Tua Tagovailoa in 2018.
Duggan was named on 78.5 percent of ballots, compared to 88.6 for Williams, 39.5 for Ohio State's C.J. Stroud who finished third and 24.2 for Georgia's Stetson Bennett who was fourth. Michigan's Aidan Hutchinson finished second last year while appearing on just 56.6 percent of ballots.
Duggan was TCU's first Heisman Trophy Finalist since LaDanian Tomlinson in 2000 and first runner-up since Jim Swink in 1955. Davey O'Brien won the Heisman Trophy in 1938.
