Geremia Freri and David Ekdahl win Big 12 Weekly Awards

Freri, Ekdahl Honored by Conference
FORT WORTH -- Sophomores Geremia Freri and David Ekdahl earned weekly Big 12 honors last week for their performances during midseasons.
Freri raced his way to two school records and multiple B-cuts at the Art Adamson Invitational. His first coming in the 200-fly, tying the school record in the prelims with a time of 1:45.88. He finished fifth in the 500 freestyle with a B-cut, clocking in at 4:22.20.
In the 1650 freestyle, the sophomore finished second with a time of 15:13.33. He consistently performed as TCU's best swimmer adding another school record in the 200 IM during a time trial in between sessions.
Ekdahl's Diver of the Week award marks his third of the year. He won the 3-meter final at the SMU Invite scoring 370.80. In the 1-meter, the sophomore finished in second in the final with a score of 324.40. In both events the diver secured Zone cuts.
Up Next: TCU swim and dive will head to Dallas for a dual meet against SMU on Dec. 2.
