
TCU Earns Three Sets of Big 12 Rider of the Month Accolades

Ashleigh Scully, Shea Graham and Giorgia Meadows were honored following dominant October
IRVING – One of the most successful four-week stretches in TCU equestrian history was recognized in full by the Big 12 Conference on Wednesday.
Juniors Ashleigh Scully, Shea Graham and Giorgia Meadows were named Big 12 Riders of the Month for October as voted on by conference head coaches.
Scully claimed the crown in fences. Graham and Meadows delivered a clean sweep in Western. Graham was honored in horsemanship while Meadows garnered her second straight set of monthly all-conference accolades in reining.
Originally from Morristown, New Jersey, Scully posted a 4-0 record and earned two sets of Most Outstanding Performer (MOP) accolades. Three of Scully's victories came in road or neutral site contests.
She finished 2-0 in a doubleheader against Delaware State and No. 10 UT Martin on Oct. 13, helping the Horned Frogs to victories in both meets. Scully picked up 83 points in TCU's 12-8 win over Delaware State and later rode to a score of 84 and MOP credentials in TCU's 9-6 triumph against UT Martin. Scully earned a score of 77 en route to her third win of the month at No. 10 Baylor on Oct. 21. She then delivered one of TCU's most impressive results of the 2022-23 campaign, scoring 87 points and taking home MOP honors in TCU's 12-6 takedown of No. 2 Oklahoma State on Oct. 28.
Scully sports a 5-0 record through four fall meets. Three of her wins have come against teams featured in the top-10 of the NCEA Dual Discipline Team Rankings.
Graham competed to a 3-1 mark. She was awarded 75.5 points and her first MOP recognition of the fall against Delaware State. The Cave Creek, Arizona native earned her highest score of October at No. 10 Baylor, bringing in 76 points for her second victory of the month and third of the fall. Graham closed the month by delivering 69.5 points in TCU's 4-0 horsemanship sweep of Oklahoma State.
Meadows, from Cuba, Missouri, moved her overall reining record in 2022-23 to 5-0 behind a perfect October slate. She earned the win against Delaware State with a score of 67 points. Meadows was then named MOP vs. UT Martin after being awarded 77 points in TCU's win. She added to her tally of top-10 wins with triumphs over Baylor and Oklahoma State, earning respective scores of 70.5 and 75 in the meets.
All three athletes helped TCU ascend to the No. 1 overall spot in the NCEA Dual Discipline Team Ranking for the first time in program history and maintain a top-three ranking throughout October.
TCU (4-1) is ranked second ahead of its next meet, a date with conference rival Fresno State at 10 a.m. on Thursday at Bear Creek Farms.
