Duggan, Hubbard, Hall and Johannssen honored by TCU
Fort Worth – Max Duggan of football, Chaylyn Hubbard of soccer, Zoe Hall of volleyball and Julie Johannessen of rifle have been named TCU Student-Athletes of the week, presented by Bob's Steak and Chop House.
Duggan, a senior from Iowa, took home Big 12 Offensive Player of the week. The quarterback competed 23-of-33 passes for 302 yards and three touchdowns. Duggan rushed for 116 yards on just five carries including a 76-yard touchdown in the second quarter. TCU football will travel to Lawrence, KS to play the Jayhawks on Saturday, Oct. 8.
Hubbard scored her first career goal against Kansas State, which was the lone goal in a 1-0 decision. The graduate student from Spring, Texas played part in a shutout effort on defense playing the entire match. The Horned Frogs are back in action at home versus West Virginia on Thursday.
Hall set career-highs in points (15.5), kills (11), hitting percentage (.429) and total blocks (7) in a three-set come from behind effort against West Virginia. The sophomore led all players in hit percentage and blocks. She played as both an outside hitter and middle blocker. TCU volleyball will head to Austin, Texas to take on the Longhorns on Wednesday.
Johannessen finished first in both her disciplines for the second straight week. She fired a 594 in smallbore and a 599 in air rifle. The freshman leads the nation in air rifle average and ranks second in smallbore average. As a team, TCU air rifle tied the school smallbore record. Rifle's next meet is at Memphis Saturday, Oct. 8.
