Team Notes
*TCU's five-game winning streak was snapped. It had been tied for the seventh-longest active streak in the nation.
* TCU and SMU met for the 100th time in their history. The Horned Frogs lead the series 51-42-7.
* Under TCU Head Coach Gary Patterson, TCU is now 15-4 against SMU.
* TCU scored for the 358th consecutive game. It's the nation's second-longest current streak and fourth all-time in NCAA history. The Horned Frogs haven't been blanked since Nov. 16, 1991, at Texas (32-0).
* TCU is 94-28 in home games under Patterson. TCU is in the midst of opening a season with four straight home contests for just the second time in its history.
* The Horned Frogs had three interceptions in a game for the first time since the 2019 season finale against West Virginia.
* TCU brothers Wes Harris and Wyatt Harris were in the starting lineup for the second consecutive game and second time in their Horned Frogs career. Wes Harris was at offensive guard with Wyatt Harris at linebacker.
* TCU's captains were Max Duggan, Wes Harris, Ochaun Mathis and Dee Winters. It was the first time for Harris to be a captain.
* The Horned Frogs are now 15-7 in their last 22 regular-season games after an open date.
* TCU wore a white jersey, white pants and a purple helmet. It was the first time the Horned Frogs wore white at home since their 56-36 win over SMU in 2017.
Individual Notes
Offense
* Zach Evans had 113 yards rushing on 15 carries, topping 100 yards for the fourth time in the last five games.
* Evans had a 46-yard touchdown catch for the first receiving score of his career. He totaled three catches for 70 yards.
* Taye Barber posted his second career 100-yard receiving game with 114 yards on five catches. Included in his total was a 21-yard touchdown and a career long 60-yard reception.
* The five receptions gave Barber 99 career catches.
* Barber's five career touchdown catches are the most among current Horned Frogs.
* Max Duggan tied a career high for the second straight game with three touchdown passes. He has now accomplished the feat four times in his career. He completed 16-of-28 attempts for 276 yards with no interceptions.
* J.D. Spielman had three receptions for 54 yards to extend his streak with a catch to 39 consecutive games, second-longest in the nation. It also represents every game in his collegiate career.
* Kendre Miller's 20-yard touchdown run on TCU's opening possession was his second rushing score of the season and fourth of his career.
* Derius Davis' 13-yard touchdown catch was his first of the season and fourth of his career.
Defense
* Wyatt Harris totaled a team-best and career-high nine tackles to go with his first interception of the season and second of his career. Harris had a 47-yard return with his pick to set up a Griffin Kell field goal.
* Tre'Vius Hodges-Tomlinson recorded a career-high seven tackles, including two for loss.
* Dee Winters had his first career interception.
* Free safety Deshawn McCuin made his first career start and had his first career interception, in the end zone on a 4th-and-goal at the TCU 3 on the final play of the first half.
* T.J. Carter made his first TCU start at cornerback. He started at weak safety in the opening two games. Carter started 44 games at cornerback for Memphis (2017-20).
* Carter equaled a TCU career-best with six tackles and a quarterback hurry.
Special Teams
* Griffin Kell's had field goals of 40 and 30 yards to make him 3-of-5 on the season and 18-of-26 in his career.
* J.D. Spielman returned three kickoffs for 93 yards with a long of 41.
