FORT WORTH – No. 3 TCU got the tying run to third base in the ninth but couldn't get him home in dropping a 5-4 decision to No. 6 Texas Friday night at Lupton Stadium. TCU rallied three different times to tie the game, but a solo home run in the eighth was the difference.

TCU took advantage of a two-out error in the first to tie the game as Zach Humphreys scored on a Gene Wood base hit.
A two out double in the fourth put the Longhorns back in front, 2-1. Again, the Horned Frogs battled back to tie the game in the bottom of the inning. Conner Shepherd led off the frame with a triple and scored on a Phillip Sikes ground out.
The see-saw battle continued as Texas scratched across single runs in the fifth and sixth, only to see TCU answer with solo tallies in the sixth and seventh to tie the game at four. Hunter Wolfe singled home Sikes to make it a 4-3 game after six. Elijah Nunez scored the game-tying run on a Humphreys sacrifice fly.
Texas took its final lead on a two-out home run from Mike Antico.
