
10 Horned Frogs Named Academic All Big 12 Tennis

Five men and five women earned academic all-conference honors
FORT WORTH -- TCU tennis had 10 student-athletes represented on the academic All-Big 12 Tennis team, the conference office announced on Thursday.
Juniors Addy Guevara and Stevie Kennedy, along with sophomore Mercedes Aristegui received first-team honors for the second season in a row. Freshman Margaret Polk earned a spot on the first-team in her first year of eligibility. Junior Aleksa Cveticanin was named to the second-team all-conference for the her first all-academic recognition.
Junior Alastair Gray received first-team all-academic honors for the fourth time in his career, while senior Max Kurzban and sophomore Sander Jong were awarded first team honors for the second season in a row. Junior Juan Martín and Bertus Kruger received second team honors for the second time in their careers as well.
First team members consist of those who have maintained a 3.20 or better GPA while the second team selections hold a 3.00 to 3.19 GPA.
To qualify, student-athletes must maintain a 3.00 GPA or higher either cumulative or the two previous semesters and must have participated in 20 percent of their team's scheduled contests. Freshmen and transfers are not eligible in their first year of academic residence. Senior student-athletes who have participated for a minimum of two years and meet all the criteria except percent of participation are also eligible.
