Frogs finish inside the top 20 for the fifth time in the last eight years
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – TCU finished the 2021 NCAA Men's Golf Championships in 16th place Monday at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz.
The day began where Sunday left off, a tiebreaker with Georgia Tech for the right to continue playing and participate in the fourth round. The Horned Frogs (+4) lost to the Yellow Jackets (+1) in the one-hole five-person playoff. Gustav Frimodt made par on his hole and the other four Horned Frogs made bogey.
Seeded 27th entering the tournament, TCU finished 32-over 872, one stroke up on No. 14-ranked Tennessee, No. 18 SMU and No. 12 Georgia. It was the second-straight season that TCU finished in the top 20 nationally and the fifth time in the last eight years.
After three outstanding rounds of golf, Aymeric Laussot qualified to play a fourth round by being one of the top nine players not on an advancing team. Laussot shot 10-over 80 and finished with a score of 14-over 294 to tie for 61st place.
