WACO, Texas – TCU equestrian had 18 riders named to the NCEA All-Academic teams, the National Collegiate Equestrian Association announced Friday afternoon.
With the honorees, TCU now has 150 All-Academic team recipients in program history.
"This group really prides itself on being the best both inside the classroom and in the show arena," TCU Director of Equestrian Haley Schoolfield said. "It is no surprise to me that so many of our girls are on this list, they work so hard each and every day and it is an honor to have so many successful student-athletes."
Jacey Albaugh, Wynne Weatherly and Raegan Rast were each named to the NCEA All-Academic First Team. Albaugh and Weatherly were named first team honorees for a second time in their respective careers, while Rast earned all-academic honors for a third time overall and first team accolades for the first time in her career.
Alex Beneson was named to the NCEA All-Academic Third Team for a third time in her career. Meanwhile, Isabella Baxter, Anna Hauter, Maddy Buchanan and Mattie Dukes were each honorable mention selections. This marks the second career all-academic honor for both Baxter and Hauter, while Buchanan and Dukes earned all-academic honors in their first years of eligibility.
A total of 10 Horned Frogs were also honored by the APHA NCEA Academic Honor Roll with seniors Kathleen Harrigan and Janelle Henningsen making their third appearance on the chart. Skylar Smith earned her second career NCEA academic recognition while Josie Ferrante, Bri Gonzalez, Emma Brown, Kaitlyn Baker, Makenzy Barnes, Alexis Cook and Catherine Shurtleff all received their first nod.
