
Bright Named Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week

Honor is first of her career
FORT WORTH – TCU women's soccer junior Messiah Bright was named the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week. The honor is the first of her career.
Bright scored the opening goal in the win over Notre Dame and assisted on what would be the eventual game-winner. It was the first time this season and the seventh time in her career she played a part in multiple goals in a contest. The junior matched her season high with four shots in the game.
TCU honorees this season include Grace Collins (Offensive Player of the Week, Oct. 27 and Nov. 10), Tijana Duricek (Defensive Player of the Week, Oct. 27) Brandi Peterson (Defensive Player of the Week, Oct. 12, Nov. 10 and March 22), Marz Akins (Freshman of the Week, Sept. 14), Yazmeen Ryan (Offensive Player of the Week, March 22 and April 6) and Emily Alvarado (Goalkeeper of the Week, Sept. 22) as TCU's honorees this season. Alvarado was also named the National Player of the Week on Sept. 22, while Peterson was selected as the National Player of the Week on Oct. 12. Collins was also tabbed the National Player of the Week on Oct. 27. Ryan was named the National Player of the Week on April 6.
The Horned Frogs (11-1-1) were named the No. 4 National Seed for the upcoming NCAA Tournament slated to begin next week. TCU will have a first round bye and will face the winner of the New Mexico/Navy first round matchup. The entire tournament will be held in North Carolina.
