
Peterson and Ryan Honored By League

TCU has had 10 Players of the Week this season
FORT WORTH – TCU women's soccer senior Yazmeen Ryan was named the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week, while junior defender Brandi Peterson was tabbed the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week. The honor is the first of the season and the second of her career for Ryan, while it's the third accolade of the campaign for Peterson.
Ryan posted her fifth career game of contributing to multiple goals in a game. She assisted on the game-winning goal and scored the insurance goal. Ryan climbed the career charts with her 18th career assist to tie for second all-time. She scored her 20th career goal to tie for seventh all-time, while her 58 career points are now fifth all-time.
Peterson was one of just three Horned Frogs to play the entirety of the match. She was a key contributor to holding Oklahoma to just four shots, none of which were on goal. Oklahoma only managed two corner kicks in the contest.
TCU honorees this season include Grace Collins (Offensive Player of the Week, Oct. 27 and Nov. 10), Tijana Duricek (Defensive Player of the Week, Oct. 27) Brandi Peterson (Defensive Player of the Week, Oct. 12 and Nov. 10), Marz Akins (Freshman of the Week, Sept. 14) and Emily Alvarado (Goalkeeper of the Week, Sept. 22) as TCU's honorees this season. Alvarado was also named the National Player of the Week on Sept. 22, while Peterson was selected as the National Player of the Week on Oct. 12. Collins was also tabbed the National Player of the Week on Oct. 27.
The Horned Frogs wrapped up the 2020 Big 12 regular season with their first-ever conference title. TCU went 8-0-1 and secured the title with a 1-0 win over No. 4 West Virginia on Nov. 6. TCU opened up its spring portion of the schedule with a 2-0 win over Oklahoma on March 20 to pick up its ninth consecutive win, improving to 9-0-1 on the year.
