Shepherd homers for TCU
SAN ANTONIO, Texas – TCU scored three times in the first and rode the lead to a 6-3 victory over UTSA on Wednesday night. Cam Brown went five innings in his second career start, while Conner Shepherd homered and drove in two.
The Rundown
Elijah Nunez singled and Luke Boyers drew a walk to lead off the game. Zach Humphreys doubled down the line to drive in the first run of the game. A bobble in right allowed Boyers to score for a 2-0 lead. Conner Shepherd grounded out to push the lead to 3-0.
UTSA took advantage of a lead-off double and a passed ball to score its first run of the game, cutting the TCU lead to two, 3-1.
With one swing of the bat, Shepherd restored the three run advantage with a lead-off home run in the fourth.
