Razorbacks score four in final two innings
ARLINGTON, Texas – No. 8 Arkansas rallied with four runs in the final two innings to steal a 4-1 victory from No. 10 TCU Monday night at Globe Life Field. Austin Krob threw four shutout innings in his first career start.
The Rundown
Krob was strong in making his first career start. He went four innings, allowing one hit, walking three and striking out five in the no-decision. Four of his five strikeouts were looking, the biggest coming to end the fourth as he worked around a pair of one-out walks.
TCU carried a 1-0 lead into the eighth inning. A lead-off single in eighth turned into the tying run for Arkansas as Christian Franklin tripled with one out to drive in the run. Cullen Smith gave the Razorbacks a 2-1 lead with a base hit.
The Frogs grabbed the lead with a two-out rally in the second. Zach Humphreys was hit by the pitch and moved to third on Brayden Taylor's first career hit. Luke Boyers put the Frogs on top with a base hit to right.
Arkansas extended its lead with a pair of runs in the ninth to account for the final score.
Charles King (0-1) took the loss after surrendering two runs on three hit while striking out five. He retired the first six batters he faced. Haylen Green and Harrison Beethe combined to pitch the final two innings.
