
TCU Closes the 2021 Season

FORT WORTH – TCU Volleyball finished out the 2021 fall season with a four-set defeat against West Virginia on Saturday night inside Schollmaier Arena. Senior Dani Dennison recorded 21 digs to finish her TCU career with 1,611 digs, the most in program history.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Set 1 (WVU, 25-21): The Horned Frogs showed their grit, coming back from a 3-8 deficit to tie the score, 16-16. But a 3-0 WVU run and strong blocking put the Mountaineers in front until the end. Hall led the offense with four kills while Dennison made six digs.
Set 2 (WVU, 25-18): WVU jumped in front, 12-4, and wouldn't allow TCU back within five points for the remainder of the set, winning by seven points. Dennison recorded her 1,600th career dig late in the set while Julia Adams led the team with four kills. Myers and Alexcis Lusby combined for two blocks each in the set.
Set 3 (TCU, 25-16): Myers made three blocks and three kills while Nalls went off for five kills of her own as TCU ended the set on a 16-5 run, turning a 9-11 deficit into a nine-point set victory.
Set 4 (WVU, 25-19): The Mountaineers cracked the set open early on, turning a 5-5 score into an 18-9 lead. The Horned Frogs fought until the bitter end, closing the gap to six points before the final kill ended the season. Nalls made five kills while Myers posted three kills and four blocks to earn her double-double (10 kills, 10 blocks).

- Dani Dennison led the team with 21 digs.
- She improves her career total to 1,611 – the most in program history.
- This was Dennison's program-record 82nd career double-digit dig match and ninth in a row.
- She made 20+ digs for the third time in her final four college matches.
- Dani becomes the first Horned Frog to lead the team in digs across four separate seasons, doing so in 2017, 2019, 2020 and 2021.
- Ashley Wehrstein made a season high 11 digs in her final match at TCU. It was her fifth career 10+ dig match.
- Bella Swafford served an ace in the third set. She finishes her TCU career with more service aces (18) than service errors (17).
- Zoe Hall made a season-best 12 kills on .320 hitting.
- This was her second career 10+ kill match with over .300 hitting.
- She finished off her freshman season with 46 kills and 27 blocks in her final six matches, averaging 1.84 kills/set and 1.08 blocks/set.
- Audrey Nalls led the team with 17 kills, a new season high.
- Mykayla Myers secured her second career double-double, making 10 kills and 10 blocks.
- She made her 10 kills on .562 hitting. Her highest hitting percentage in a Big 12 match.
