Freri earns his second Big 12 honor in two weeks
IRVING, Texas – For the second straight week, Geremia Freri earned Big 12 honors as he was named Men's Newcomer of the Week this week.
At the FIU TYR Classic, Freri competed in four events, which was highlighted by his win in the 500 freestyle with a time of 4:29.19. He also placed second in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:38.58.
Freri rounded out his weekend with a fifth-place finish in the 200 butterfly where he notched a time of 1:51.03.
He helped lead the Horned Frogs to a second-place overall finish on the men's side as the team amassed 321 points. TCU defeated Pitt, Missouri State, Florida Atlantic, Keiser and Lynn at the invitational.

The Frogs travel to Los Angeles for the USC Invitational on Oct. 15-16. Friday's events will start at 4 p.m. and Saturday's meet will begin at 11 a.m.
