Ambler joins the Horned Frogs as Assistant Coach and Recruiting Coordinator
FORT WORTH -- TCU volleyball head coach Jill Kramer is pleased to announce the hiring of Eysha Ambler as assistant coach and recruiting coordinator of the TCU volleyball program.
"We are very happy with Eysha's decision to join our Horned Frogs family," Kramer said. "I would like to thank (Senior Associate Athletic Director of Student Services) Gretchen Bouton and (Director of Intercollegiate Athletics) Jeremiah Donati for their work in making this opportunity possible."
Ambler comes to Fort Worth after spending the past nine seasons at Auburn in the same role. While at Auburn, Ambler recruited the seventh-ranked recruiting class in the nation in 2018, the highest ranked class in program history and helped recruit and coach, Jesse Earl, the first AVCA All-American in the program's history.
"Eysha has a great reputation in our sport as a recruiter, coach, mentor and all-around person," Kramer said. "She aligns with TCU and our volleyball program in her core values and will be an outstanding mentor for our student-athletes. Eysha is a natural leader with a team-first mentality who will bring a set of intangibles to our program that will resonate with our student-athletes and staff alike. Eysha is also diligent on the recruiting trail, which has shown over the past decade. I am excited for her to be donning the purple and white and representing the Horned Frog faithful out on the recruiting trail."
"I want to thank Jill Kramer for this opportunity and the team for allowing me to me apart of the family," Ambler said. "I could tell during my interview process that TCU was a special place with special people. I'm looking forward to getting started in the gym and on the recruiting trail. I'm honored and thrilled to call TCU and Fort Worth my new home!"
Ambler has 18 years of coaching experience including stops at Pittsburgh, Tennessee State and Jacksonville State. She mentored Meagan Dooley while at Pitt as she became the third All-American in program history and helped Tennessee State earn its maiden berth in the NCAA Tournament.
Ambler is an alumna of Jacksonville State where she was the first three-sport letterman, dating back to 1985, earning letters in basketball, track and field and volleyball. She graduated from JSU in 2001 with a B.S. in business management and later got her B.S. in education in 2004.
She has worked as the head coach of the Pittsburgh Elite Volleyball Club (2009-11) and the Nashville One Volleyball Club (2008-09), while also serving as an assistant with Impact Volleyball Club (2008) in Nashville.
