KANE'OHU, O'AHU, Hawaii -- The TCU women's golf team and Sabrina Iqbal, who tied her own school record for 54-hole score, both finished second as play concluded Wednesday at the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational.
The Horned Frogs posted their second straight runner-up finish and trailed only No. 3 Arizona State.
Iqbal carded a final round 5-under-par 67 and was then defeated in a 5th playoff hole by Arizona State's Linn Grant for medalist honors. Iqbal recorded her third consecutive top-10 finish, sixth in nine tournaments this season and 10th in 20 career events for the Horned Frogs.
A sophomore from San Jose, Calif., Iqbal had a bogey-free round with five birdies and par on 13 holes. Her 7-under 209 tied her school record she set in this year's season-opening Golfweek Conference Challenge.
