Frogs Continue Play in Hawai'i
WAIKOLOA, Hawai'i – Freshman Mateo Fernández de Oliveira continues to lead the TCU men's golf team after the second round was played Friday at the Waikoloa Kings' Course in Waikoloa, Hawai'i.
The Frogs remain tied for ninth with USC at 6-under 286 after recording two more shots than yesterday. No. 2 Georgia Tech leads the 20-team field at 33-under 269.
Fernández de Oliveira shot 1-under 71 and is tied for 22nd place after two rounds at 4-under 140. Also shooting 1-under 71 was freshman Aymeric Laussot who is tied for 31st place with a score of 3-under 141.
Freshman Caden Christopherson made an eagle for the second-straight day, this time on the par 4 No. 8 hole. He is 2-over 146 after shooting 2-over 75 on Friday.
The best round of the day for TCU was from Justin Gums. The sophomore made a team-high four birdies and shot 3-under 33 on the front nine to finish 2-under 70 for the day.
