FORT WORTH -- TCU Volleyball's McKenzie Nichols and Katie Clark have been named TCU Student-Athletes of the Week presented by Bob's Steak and Chop House.
Nichols, a sophomore setter from Southlake, Texas, recorded a double-double in both of TCU's matches against Iowa State last weekend, finishing the weekend with 80 assists and 21 digs. It was her fourth and fifth double-double of the season, the most on the team. She finished the fall season with double-doubles in four consecutive matches, her longest streak as a Horned Frog. Nichols completed the fall season averaging 10.26 assists/set, the second-best mark in the Big 12 conference and the 14th highest average in the nation.
Clark led the Horned Frogs in kills (22), blocks (14) and points (29.5) over the weekend. She delivered a season-best nine blocks on Saturday, the second most blocks in a single match for her career and most in a Big 12 match. Her nine blocks in a match is tied for the sixth-most by any player in the Big 12 this season. She finished her fall season leading the Horned Frogs, averaging 0.79 blocks/set.
TCU Volleyball will play a minimum of six matches in the spring season against Kansas, Texas and Oklahoma, with the possibility of adding non-conference matches as well.
