TCU had the second-most honorees on the all-conference team
IRVING, Texas -- TCU's Greta Bruner and Sabrina Iqbal have been named to the All-Big 12 Women's Golf Team.
TCU's two selections on the squad were the second-most in the conference. It also equals the Horned Frogs' total from their first six years combined in the Big 12. TCU's previous All-Big 12 honorees were Sanna Nuutinen in 2014 and Emmy Martin in 2017.
Iqbal (73.0) and Bruner (73.5) posted the second- and third-best scoring averages in TCU history, behind only Martin (72.9, 2017).
Iqbal, who qualified for the 2019 U.S. Women's Open, closed the season with 10 consecutive top-20 finishes, including five in the top 10. The freshman from San Jose, Calif., was a medalist at the Maryb S. Kauth Invitational in just her second collegiate tournament. She had a team-best five sub-70 rounds on the season.
Bruner recorded four top-10 finishes among six top-20 results. She equaled a TCU 54-hole record with her 6-under-par 210 in earning runner-up honors at the ICON Invitational in The Woodlands, Texas, just outside her hometown of Conroe. The junior tied a TCU season record with four eagles. Her seven career eagles are tied for third, one shy of the program mark.
TCU made its 22nd postseason appearance in the last 24 years and closed the campaign with a No. 24 national ranking by Golfweek.
