
TCU Wins Thriller At Oklahoma Saturday

Frogs score four unanswered to rally for the win
NORMAN, Okla. – For the second time in the series TCU had to fight its way out of an early deficit, but four unanswered runs late helped the Horned Frogs even the series at Oklahoma. Marcelo Perez recorded the six-out save as TCU held on for the 4-2 victory Saturday afternoon at L. Dale Mitchell Park.
The Rundown
A thrilling game came down to the very final out as the first two Oklahoma batters in the ninth reached base via a hit and a walk. The runners were in scoring position with only one out. Marcelo Perez battled through a seven-pitch at-bat with Brylie Ware before getting strikeout for out No. 2. Johnny Rizer made a game-saving catch deep in center field to end the game and lock up Perez's fifth save of the year.
Oklahoma built a 2-0 lead over the first three innings. In the second, Oklahoma scored on a groundout. Diego Muniz's lead-off home run in the third accounted for the Sooners' final run.
King pitched around base runners in every inning but the Sooners never got a runner to third after the second inning while he was in the game and saw only one other runner touch third in the contest.
TCU tied the game in the sixth with four straight one-out hits. Josh Watson started the hit-parade and moved to third on Jake Guenther's second hit of the game. Austin Henry got the Frogs on the board with a base hit. Rizer's lone hit of the game tied the contest.
Back-to-back singles from Adam Oviedo and Bobby Goodloe had the Frogs in business. With one out and the bases loaded, Guenther battled to a 3-2 count before lacing a single through the right side for two RBIs and a 4-2 lead.

7.0 – In making his first start of the season, Charles King gave the Frogs a career-high seven innings on the mound. The junior allowed 10 hits, but stranded eight base runners while limiting the Sooners to just two runs. He finished the night with five strikeouts.
