Reagor voted by his teammates as the Dan Rogers Most Valuable Player
FORT WORTH, Texas -- The TCU football program honored its 2018 senior class at Thursday night's team banquet in the Brown-Lupton University Union on campus.
Over the last four seasons, the seniors led TCU to a 35-18 overall record and 22-14 Big 12 mark. During their careers, the seniors won 2016 and 2017 Valero Alamo Bowl championships as well as the 2018 Cheez-It Bowl championship. The seniors had six wins against ranked opponents while posting two perfect seasons at home. Eight fifth-year seniors were part of TCU's 2014 Big 12 championship and 42-3 victory over Ole Miss in the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl.
In voting by his teammates, wide receiver Jalen Reagor was selected as TCU's Dan Rogers Most Valuable Player. Reagor is the first wide receiver to receive the award since Cory Rodgers in 2004.
Reagor was also named the Offensive Most Valuable Player with defensive end L.J. Collier voted the Defensive MVP. True freshman Trevon Moehrig was the Special Teams MVP.
Reagor's team-best 72 receptions and 1,061 yards receiving both rank second for a season in TCU history. Forty-four of his 72 catches (61.1 percent) went for a first down or touchdown. The second-team All-Big 12 selection led TCU and the Big 12 in percentage of his team's receptions at 30.1 (72-of-239), the highest mark by a Horned Frog in the 18-season tenure of head coach Gary Patterson. Reagor's team-best nine touchdown catches tied for the fifth-best season total by a Horned Frog. The rising junior from Waxahachie, Texas, set a TCU record with seven consecutive games with a scoring grab.
Reagor became the first wide receiver in TCU and Big 12 history to top 100 yards rushing (121) and 90 receiving (91) in the 31-24 victory over Oklahoma State. He was the sixth FBS player since 1996 to accomplish the feat and the first Power 5 wide receiver since Dexter McCluster for Ole Miss in 2009.
Collier, a first-team All-Big 12 selection, placed second on TCU with his career-high 6.0 sacks and 11.5 tackles for loss. He also tied for third on the team with four pass breakups, the most by a defensive lineman. A Munday, Texas, native, Collier closed his TCU career with 2.0 tackles for loss, including a sack, as part of four stops in the 10-7 overtime win versus Cal in the Cheez-It Bowl. He had a career-best eight tackles in the 14-13 victory over Kansas State.
Moehrig, from Spring Branch, Texas, placed second on the Horned Frogs with six special teams tackles.
