Ravetto leads TCU
PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. – Under less than ideal conditions, the TCU men's golf team finished in seventh place Monday at The Hayt at Sawgrass Country Club.
The 15-team field endured 15 MPH winds, light rain and temperatures in the mid 50s which raised every team's scores. TCU shot 18-over 306 on the day and 34-over 898 for the tournament. The Frogs finished ahead of No. 21 Alabama (+38) and No. 9 Auburn (+40). Tennessee won the tournament at 11-over 875.
David Ravetto led the Frogs and tied for 16th place at 6-over 222. The senior's even-par 72 was the second-best score of the day. Ravetto also had his second eagle of the tournament, one of four players to sink two eagles over the three rounds.
Stefano Mazzoli finished tied for 21st at 8-over 224.
Hayden Springer was just behind Mazzoli at 10-over 226 and finished tied for 29th.
The Frogs will next be in action April 8-9 at the Tiger Invitational in Columbia, Mo. It will be the final tournament before the Big 12 Championship, held April 26-28, at The Greenbrier in White Sulphur Springs, W.Va.
