
Gladney, Niang Named Senior CLASS Award Candidates

TCU is one of just three schools with more than one candidate
OVERLAND PARK, Kan. -- TCU cornerback Jeff Gladney and offensive tackle Lucas Niang have been named two of 30 candidates nationally for the 2019 Senior CLASS Award.
Candidates are selected on the basis of achievement in community, classroom, character and competition. An acronym for Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in School, the Senior CLASS Award focuses on the total student-athlete and encourages students to use their platform in athletics to make a positive impact as leaders in their communities.
TCU is one of three schools nationally with more than one candidate.
Gladney, an All-Big 12 selection and Preseason All-American, has a team-best five pass breakups on the year. He has made 36 career starts, the most among active Horned Frogs. The New Boston, Texas, native also has TCU's longest current streak for consecutive starts at 26.
Niang, from New Canaan, Conn., is also an All-Big 12 performer who appears on watch lists for the Outland Trophy and Senior Bowl. While making 25 consecutive starts, he has not allowed a sack over the last two seasons.
