FORT WORTH, Texas – The TCU men's and women's cross country teams will open the 2018 season on Friday, competing at the Baylor Twilight Invitational.
RACE INFO
The women will run 4,000m, scheduled to start at 7 p.m., with the men's 6000m to follow. The race will take place at the Heart of Texas Soccer Complex. This marks the eighth consecutive year that TCU will open the season at Baylor.
THE FIELD
TCU will compete against other South Central region teams, including host-Baylor, SMU's women's team, Incarnate Word, Texas State, and North Texas. SMU's women rank No.3 in the region, followed by Baylor at No.4.
TCU NOTABLES
The women's team returns two of its top three Baylor Twilight finishers from last year's meet. Making her collegiate debut in Waco a year ago, Evelyn Mandel finished 19th with a 14:25.1 mark. Finishing one spot behind Mandel, Lindsay Tomaini finished 20th in 14:31.5.
On the men's side, TCU returns its top four finishers from last year's opener. Henry Butz was the top Horned Frog with a 19:36.4 mark, followed by Patrick LaCour (19:44.1), Dylan Brokmeyer (19:48.6), and Kelby Caplinger (19:49.7).
