FORT WORTH, Texas - As fall rapidly approaches, and the Horned Frogs are preparing to take the field, TCU fans everywhere are embracing the renewal of traditions and displaying their spirit for the kick-off of football season. This year's College Colors Day, taking place Aug. 31, will spark all TCU fans nationwide to unleash their colors by wearing purple and white to support the team.
The annual College Colors Day holiday allows fans across the country to showcase their unmatched passion and pride by sporting their best TCU gear and sharing photos and video on social media using the hashtag #CollegeColorsDay.
"We want to see all TCU students, faculty, staff, alumni, fans, families and friends participating in College Colors Day and showing the world how proud they are of our University," said Julie Austin, Associate Athletics Director for Marketing and Licensing. "Whether you're celebrating close to campus or representing TCU across the globe, College Colors Day lets our fans unleash their Horned Frogs spirit."
College Colors Day was created by the University's licensing partner, IMG College Licensing (IMGCL), to present a unified spirit day for college fans and supporters. Beyond showing their fandom on social media, fans can also visit www.CollegeColorsDay.com for discounts on new college merchandise, including an inaugural partnership with Ebates that gives consumers 30% cash back on college merchandise purchases made at Fanatics via the website.
This Friday also kicks off another season of "Go Purple Friday" presented by Bank of America. The community initiative encourages fans to support the hometown team by wearing purple gear. Every Friday throughout football season fans can enjoy special deals at area restaurants, retailers and services when they show their purple pride. A full list of partners can be found at www.GoPurpleFriday.com.
Whether going to work, school, or just spending time with friends, TCU fans are encouraged to share in the excitement of a new season by wearing their colors on Friday.
